đ°What was in the News?
GameStop reported earnings: Global e-commerce sales increased 175% and now represents 34% of net sales, vs. 12% of net sales in q4 of 2019. Maybe the Ryan Cohen effect is real. The stock dropped 33% on the day of earnings but has rebounded nicely since, only down 1% from itâs close on March 23rd.
Suez Canal was blocked: Craziness in the Suez Canal, as a ship bigger than the Empire State building (at 400m) and 219,076 in gross tonnage was knocked off course due to wind and possible technical and human errors. As of Sunday more than 369 ships were stuck on either side of the ship. The ship is blocking a canal that contributes to around 12% of global trade and 1 million oil barrels a day. It was finally wedged out Sunday night.
BitClout: A new platform to buy and sell the stock of ⌠people. Yep, people and their brands. Now, rather than telling others who the next big time CEO or artist is, you can actually put your money where your mouth out is. We will see if this is a blip or here to stay.

Interview Tips: Please reference resources in the box and rewatch the Zoom meeting from last week to commit some of these lessons to memory. Remember, more genuine = better interviewer. How do you become more genuine? Read, be curious, ask insightful questions, prepare, and most of all be YOURSELF.

Obviously, thank you to all the alums reading this, canât thank yâall enough. I urge every student to follow up with each alum you spoke with, thank them for their time and show them you did follow up research on something you chatted about.
I would love this to be an recurring event, every year, if not every semester.

Quote(s) of the week:
âThe single greatest âpeople skillâ is a highly developed & authentic interest in the other person.â
âThe successful networkers I know, the ones receiving tons of referrals and feeling truly happy about themselves, continually put the other personâs needs ahead of their own.â
âNetworking is simply the cultivating of mutually beneficial, give and take, win-win relationships. It works best, however, when emphasizing the âgiveâ part.â
